Room 308, Saturday Night

Jack's day had been very full, between detention, a movie with Emma, and ... other entertainment with Andy. After his roommate (and his green "friend") left, he laid on his bed with the door closed, not really thinking, just staring into space.

Either the paint swirls were more fascinating than he had ever noticed, or he was still a little baked.

"Of course and I don't think so?" Jack said with false innocence. "Andy was smoking earlier."

"Don't," he added, "kill things. It's messy."

She snickered, eyeing him. It was kinda a relief not to have to look way, way up. "Uh huh. I've seen that look before."

"And so what? There are showers.". Which thankfully she'd taken advantage of after training all freaking day, thanks Dimitri.

"Well, if he's going to do it in the room all the time all year, I had to try it." Perfectly reasonable, see!

"There are showers." He flopped back onto the bed, gesturing for her to join him. "Why do you want to kill things?"

Rose laughed, flopping down next to him on the bed. "What'd you think? I'm so sad I missed this."

It was - very good high logic. She was impressed.

"Someone took my door off my room. And put a WALL over it." Oh, hey, there was the fury. "A wall!"

"I don't know if it did much, but I liked what it did," Jack answered. "Everything sort of glows and gets more interesting. And Andy gave it to a gremlin and it didn't bite him, can you imagine?"

He blinked at the rest of what she said, and, very gravely, asked, "Rose, are you sure you didn't forget where your room is?"

Rose stared at him then cracked up.

"No, Jack. You're the one that's on drugs. I know where my room is." She twisted her lips. "...also I kicked a hole in the drywall."

Jack stared for a long moment.

"That's" -- his giggles were helpless -- "efficient. It was still there?"

"...no, the gremlins stole it," Rose said dryly. But she was giggling too because omg, Jack.

"They could have! Apparently they like drugs! It's anyone's guess what they're capable of," he said, still laughing, and went to put his arms over her shoulders. "Do you know who hid your room?"

"I still wanna know why he thought giving drugs to gremlins was a good idea," she teased, wrapping her arm around his waist. She scowled. "I dunno yet. I think I'm blaming Bobby."

He was the only one she'd taunted really badly recently after all.

"He said he likes sharing. Neither of us got bit, anyhow, so maybe it was a good idea," Jack said, swaying into her. She smelled nice. Girls were nice.

"... Bobby? Why?"

Okay, Jack high was freaking adorable. "Getting bit sucks, yeah," Rose agreed.

"Cause maybe I told him he should get tested for the clap?" She said, unable not to grin at that. "Because he could have gotten it through the showers."

"You're a cruel woman," Jack laughed. "Though ... he's the one who believed you, so it's on him."

"Exactly!" She laughed. "Totally not my fault. He's the naïve one who can't take a joke."

"And he'll move drywall around to show it," Jack said. "If it wasn't funny I';d be angry at him."

"I am angry at him," Rose bitched. "And whoever helped him." ...but okay, it was funny. "Damn Dimitri kept me over forever and so I wasn't even there and ugh. He's going to be so sorry."

"How do you top hiding a room?" Jack wondered. That she needed revenge went without saying.

Rose scowled. "I have no idea yet, but I am so figuring it out."

"Well, when you do, let me know if I can help." Jack was sympathetic, but his attention span was not the best just then. He was quickly over at his dresser. "Do you need something to sleep in?"

"...as long as it's not a nightshirt?" she couldn't help teasing. "I'd totally appreciate it."

Jack rolled his eyes at her. "No one appreciates night shirts," he said airily, but he tossed a modern t-shirt at her anyhow. "They're comfortable!"

"Poor Jack's night shirt," Rose teased, catching the shirt as she stood up. "Is it going to survive the rejection?"

"I'll wear it, so it won't be lonely," Jack informed her. He turned to the side, a bit awkwardly, to shuck out of his clothes and yank the maligned garment over his head. "Besides, it keeps gremlins away."

It so did not.

She shook her head, way too amused as she pulled her clothes off to put on his t-shirt.

"I thought your roommate's pot did that?"

"The night shirts worked back when I lived with Esmerelda?" Jack offered with a laugh as he went to get into bed, scooting next to the wall to leave room for her. "Do you need anything else? I don't have stuffed animals. I might be able to come up with a snack or a bedtime story."

... actually, the snack sounded good.
