Vampires shouldn't be around in the daytime. But Jack Priest, dread vampire, had always lived -- or unlived -- to break the rules. (Besides, limiting the character to night scenes and interiors had gotten expensive. The writers had decided that a little indirect sunlight didn't count.)

He lounged in the entry to his luxurious crypt, smoking a forbidden cigarette he'd stolen from a corpse and relishing the fact he did not, technically, need to breathe to do it. He was wrapped in an indigo velvet dressing gown over his black leather pajama pants. Last night had left him with much to relish: frightening Nobody and then draining Ronan's poor, dim sister. And soon, so soon, he'd be out on the hunt again, an evil childe spreading chaos and death wherever he went.

He literally cackled to think of it.

Katherine – still in Vicki's flight attendant uniform, yes – remembered being in the graveyard yesterday. She had no recollection of how she'd ended up there, but since she was still failing to make contact with her long-lost twin sister, she figured retracing yesterday's steps wouldn't be a bad idea.

Or the writers just wanted to make the viewers connect to her more by putting her in a dangerous situation.

So, she was wandering around, and for no discernible reason, tried peeking into one of the mausoleums. The Priest one, to be exact. "Hello?"

"Nobody told me," Katherine replied, frowning at that weird question. It made little sense when she didn't know Nobody was a name. (Clearly, the addition of Vicky had wiped parts of her brain clean.) Also, she hadn't really expected to find anyone here. "And it's Katherine, actually."

Katherine gasped, shocked. "No one's called me that in years," she said, alarmed. Also possibly overacting a little. "Who -- who are you?"

"Want me for what?"

Taking a step forward? So not the thing to do in this situation, but yet she did so anyway. While still looking alarmed, with her eyebrows reaching for her hairline.

"Everything?" she gasped. That was a highly alluring offer to make to someone who'd spent the last few days in a flight attendant's uniform with barely a memory of ever flying anywhere. And finding her sister seemed to be going nowhere, so... "Even Paris?"

The number one cliché dream city.

And Katherine did not possess much in the way of psychic defences. (It was probably another one of the side effects of having Vicki in her head.) She took another step closer, stumbling a bit because it was hard to walk in a crypt and stare into someone's eyes at the same time.

"Really?"

She sounded hopeful.

Katherine's eyes widened a bit at that flash of fangs, but still, she moved closer, like a woman hypnotized. What did she have to loose? Her life was starting to resemble a series of blackouts that were followed by finding herself in strange places in a uniform that wasn't hers.

No, if someone wanted to take her in then she needed to take the chance, right? Right.

Katherine just hoped it would be something more, something better than what she had going for her right now. And the writers were getting bored with the alternate personality storyline because they kept getting complaints from people for 'mishandling sensitive subject material for crude entertainment purposes', whatever that meant.

It all led to her offering up her neck, willingly. Maybe things would be different from now on.

Katherine didn't scream though this was probably supposed to be very painful. Perhaps it was because this was being portrayed as a desirable thing instead of cold blooded murder. So, she just whimpered, very neatly, precisely. Also, somewhere in the background, there were candles now. To set a mood. Because that made sense.

Someone in Continuity was getting fired.

That was entirely possible, yes. But she hadn't lost her uniform, so that was something, right? Even if there may have been a few more undone buttons than there had been just a moment ago. And the scarf seemed to have disappeared.

But, Katherine reached greedily for his wrist and pressed it to her mouth, to drink, to be reborn. Better, stronger, more attractive to viewers, all that.

Katherine went limp, but in a controlled, graceful manner, not like those actually unconscious people who were like life-sized dummies and were hard to move. No, she was a pretty, pretty corpse.

And soon, she'd awaken to a new glory.
