Jack's Room, 33 Apocalypse Ave., Sunday Morning

After he got back to the island, Jack spent most of the day Saturday parked in front of intentionally bad TV. It was easier not to think about what had happened in Beacon Hills if he was staring at Kardashian Kleavage. He went to bed early, fell into a dreamless sleep.

Sunday had promised more of the same until he checked his school email and realized his midterms were during the coming week. He groaned and turned on his laptop. Werewolf angst could wait: Right now, he had to pull a half-decent paper on the Bayeaux tapestry together if he had any hope of passing the last class for his major.

Derek sighed maturely, slumping back in his seat. "I won't be good for him."

Oh god, Jack. Jack, run.

Jack shrugged lightly. "If that was the standard, no one would ever have sex again."

"I'm not bringing you coffee again," Derek muttered.

[bitten_notshy]

"But you saved me from writing a midterm without it," Jack mock-complained. "You can't take that away."

He rubbed under his eyes. "All right. I don't think you'd hurt him. Or no worse than whoever he happened to date would, anyhow."

"I'm all right. Could certainly be worse," Clint said, coming inside. He wasn't sleeping much but he figured he had that coming. "You healed up pretty fast. That's good."

"I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm a little messed up," Derek said, accomplishing the perfect deadpan for it.

"It's part of the package," Jack told him. "Took me a while to get used to. I kept putting bandages over things that went away in an hour."

"But you hide it so well," Jack deadpanned right back -- though his wasn't quite as perfect as Derek's. "There are lots of messed up people in the world who have love. Why shouldn't you be one of them?"

Well, for one, he didn't think he deserved it. But that went without saying.

"Remind me of that when graduation happens," Derek said, moving to put a hand on Jack's shoulder in manly solidarity.

"That's a nice benefit," Clint said. "Is that, uh, pretty universal? Among werewolves, I mean."

"Of course," Jack nodded seriously, before flashing a quick grin. "Should I remind you to buy lube, too?"

Derek flushed red at that. "I have--" NOPENOPENOPE. "--I hate you."

"Among the ones here, at least," Jack nodded. "I haven't been able to test the legend that if you hurt one of us as a wolf, it'll show up when we're back to ourselves. But it seems plausible."

He turned into the living room and sat on the couch. "Did you want anything to drink?"

And probably he would hate Jack even more when he finished laughing.

"No, no, I'm glad to know that you're prepared," he said.

Derek rolled his eyes, hating his life so much. And not at all happy to have sibling teasings from Jack what.

"Have you met Stiles? He'll have plans and research."

"Anatomical diagrams and whatnot," Jack said, agreeing with the point. "...And now I feel like I should stop in and make sure he knows not everything on the internet is good advice."

"...I hope he does." Oh god, he really hoped Stiles knew better.

"Probably he does." Jack cleared his throat. "Please don't make me actually offer him sex advice."

"No, I'm good," Clint said. He sat down as well and tried not to look too uncomfortable. "I was wondering... you said you could tell me a little about you guys so I can stop being an idiot about wolf stuff?"

And Derek flushed even worse at that. "Because this hasn't been awkward enough with his dad pointing out our feelings."

"It could be worse," Jack said, reaching for his coffee again. "His dad could be offering sex advice."

"I can try," Jack answered. "I only got bitten a little over two years ago, so I've seen both sides. What did you want to know?"

"I'd like to know basics, I guess?" Clint said. "Kitty wants to stay friends with Derek, and she's friends with you, and I know it's stupid to worry about her when nothing's ever happened to her with you guys. I feel like if I knew more, I'd worry less and she'd trust me more. Again."

The only thing that Emma would have assumed Jack would be jealous of is that her finals were done while his midterms were just starting.

They were both doing really well with the emotional-monogamy thing! Emma was totally growing as a person. Or something.

"Oooo... yes, I do. I should do French tips in silver sparkles," she mused, pulling out the little Tupperware container with all her nail polish. "And what have you been doing, Mr. Priest? Besides telling all the girls that they're prettier than a tapestry?"

"Might keep you from going off with the next Kate, too," Jack said dryly. "Well, twenty-eight days out of the month we're almost like anyone else. My senses are better than they were, and I'm faster and stronger, but it's nothing that keeps you from living a normal life."
