OOC: The Care & Feeding of the Lycanthrope

What this means:
☾ Three nights a month at moonrise, he transforms into a black-furred, largish wolf. Yeah.
☾ If you can smell or sense werewolf, you can smell or sense that he's one. He won't be sending out a PSA about it, but he'll be open to discussing it if someone asks.
☾ Jack's canon is mixed on the age-old question of vampires vs. werewolves. Mainly, werewolves are long extinct, and vamps helped put things that way. But that's so long in the past there's not much of a left-over grudge -- at least not on Jack's end. (Especially because the only werewolf from his universe he's ever met is the monster that bit him, and they did not exactly have a lengthy conversation.) Vampires smell strange to him, but not in a way that's repulsive at a normal conversational distance: Just "cold," scented by whatever they've fed on most recently, and generally different from living people.
☾ If you want him to, he might notice something similarly "off" about gods, aliens, witches, shapeshifters, fairies, mutants, etc. If you don't, he won't. Canon's unclear, and I am easy that way.
Strengths:
☾ His senses of hearing, eyesight -- especially night vision -- and smell are all enhanced, as is his speed and physical endurance. They're best as the wolf, but none too slouchy even as the human these days.
☾ He heals fast now, both in human and in wolf forms. He isn't immortal, but he's much better at walking things off than he ever was before.
☾ Once he's had some time to master his powers, he'll be able to track and recognize people by scent. Initially it'll be pretty fuzzy and fallible -- there's a lot of aroma-based noise in the world that he'll have to learn to filter.
☾ Weird but canon-based power: The ghost wolfs in canon talk telepathically, so wolf-Jack can talk to people telepathically. That said, most of what he'll have to say is variants of MINE, GO AWAY and YOU DIE NOW.
Weaknesses:
☾ Silver burns him on contact, and he can be killed most easily with a silver bullet. (Or by chopping his head off, which I would also rather not have happen.)
☾ He has a hard time with natural bodies of water, and especially with running water. It makes him feel nauseated, and he may go to some lengths to avoid, e.g., walking over a bridge. Yeah, getting onto the island is going to be fun for him. (He can bathe just fine, though, mostly because the alternative is icky.)
☾ He can be summoned and bound with wolfsbane. Just in case you keep that handy.
☾ If he is injured or marked as the wolf, the wounds will show when he turns back.
☾ During the days of the full moon, he'll be human but irritable and tense, bordering on violent if things go badly until he gets it under control. Basically he'll be one giant ball of animal instincts and stay-away.
☾ Yes, if he bites or scratches you as the wolf, you'll turn into one.
Physical Appearance as Human:
☾ Once the bandages come off, there will be scarring on his neck, shoulder and chest.
☾ He looks subtly more muscular. He started out pretty scrawny so he still won't exactly be an impressive specimen, but it is noticeable -- especially if you see him with his shirt off.
☾ In general, he'll get +3 to body hair. But he's blond and tends to dress in long sleeves and pants most of the year. Unless you're looking for it, you probably won't notice.
