The Duck Pond, Saturday Afternoon
Apr. 16th, 2011 02:59 pmAs an adult, Jack had been royally peeved when he realized Portalocity had made a mistake that would get him to Fandom a full day and a half before Karla and Warren's party. (Or at least his tickets had been printed with the wrong dates; the Portalocity clerk had steadfastly insisted it was Jack's mistake, and no amount of arguing had gotten them to let him switch.) In the end, he decided there were worse things than an extra day in Fandom and took the portal space that there was, arriving on the island just before midnight Friday.
Fandom being what it was, this meant there was now a rather confused five-year old named Jan tossing rocks into the duck pond. The ducks didn't like it much, but Jan enjoyed watching the ripples and he wasn't quite sure where else he should go. He'd gotten someone at the coffee shop to give him a muffin through the power of big, sad blue eyes, and he was making it last by picking at it, crumb by crumb.
It seemed like the people who passed by were speaking the wrong language, but that didn't bother him so much. At least they left him alone.
[OOC: Open!]
