Jack's Room, 33 Apocalypse Ave., Sunday Morning

After he got back to the island, Jack spent most of the day Saturday parked in front of intentionally bad TV. It was easier not to think about what had happened in Beacon Hills if he was staring at Kardashian Kleavage. He went to bed early, fell into a dreamless sleep.

Sunday had promised more of the same until he checked his school email and realized his midterms were during the coming week. He groaned and turned on his laptop. Werewolf angst could wait: Right now, he had to pull a half-decent paper on the Bayeaux tapestry together if he had any hope of passing the last class for his major.

"Among the ones here, at least," Jack nodded. "I haven't been able to test the legend that if you hurt one of us as a wolf, it'll show up when we're back to ourselves. But it seems plausible."

He turned into the living room and sat on the couch. "Did you want anything to drink?"

"No, I'm good," Clint said. He sat down as well and tried not to look too uncomfortable. "I was wondering... you said you could tell me a little about you guys so I can stop being an idiot about wolf stuff?"

"I can try," Jack answered. "I only got bitten a little over two years ago, so I've seen both sides. What did you want to know?"

"I'd like to know basics, I guess?" Clint said. "Kitty wants to stay friends with Derek, and she's friends with you, and I know it's stupid to worry about her when nothing's ever happened to her with you guys. I feel like if I knew more, I'd worry less and she'd trust me more. Again."

"Might keep you from going off with the next Kate, too," Jack said dryly. "Well, twenty-eight days out of the month we're almost like anyone else. My senses are better than they were, and I'm faster and stronger, but it's nothing that keeps you from living a normal life."

Clint nodded. "But the other three days, you have to deal with the full moon?" He had picked a few things up, at least.

"Yes. Or I do. Derek's fine except for the day the moon's at its peak, lucky bastard. Weres in his world have a fair amount of control from what I've seen,no matter what the hunters want you to think."

"So... he's actually like the least dangerous?" Good job Clint, good job. "This is probably kind of a personal question so you can tell me if I shouldn't ask but, do you wish it hadn't happened? Like, do you wish you could be human?"

"If he's dangerous, it's not because he's a werewolf," Jack said, and then his eyes slid to the side. "I don't know. I try not to regret things. I'm not happy it happened -- but I enjoy what I can do."

"It does seem like a decent trade, 28 days of cool tricks in exchange for three days of crap," Clint said, managing a small smile. "I really messed up with you guys, huh?"

"Not too badly with me," Jack acknowledged. "I can't speak for Derek, though."

Clint sighed. "Well, at least I'm 1 for 2. And now I know not to trust hunters from Derek's place," he said. "I'm glad you're okay. And I appreciate you talking to me about this stuff."
